At GoGetter, we believe in doing our part for the environment. We make every effort to reduce landfill waste by recycling and donating as much as we can. We need your help to do this.
We believe recycling is important (we even made a list of reasons for you) and we encourage our community to recycle first and dump last! If we are smart about our recycling now, we are providing our future generations with a healthier planet.
We’ve got a couple great ideas on how to keep items out of the landfill below:
Plan Ahead for your move

Don’t leave packing to the last minute!
This is one of the biggest mistakes homeowners can make. You will end up taking more than you’d like (or trashing items that can be recycled) and will create unnecessary stress for yourself.

Start saving up newspapers and borrowing or collecting recycled boxes for packing.
Planning ahead will save you money! Now is the time to get organized.

Time to Declutter!
Is your closet bursting at the seams? Still holding onto clothes you haven’t worn in years? Donate them to thrift stores! What about those old golf clubs? or your second fridge you rarely use? Have a garage sale, or sell items on kijiji. You can also donate items to a charity or give them away to friends and family. Daycare centres are also a great place to donate your child’s old toys or books.

After your move

Recycle your boxes and packing materials.
Once you’ve completed your move, pass on those boxes and packing materials to a friend or family member who might need them. OR

Save those boxes for the next move!
Safely store your broken down boxes in your basement or attic for a future move. Also, we often need a box here and there for storing items and decorations out of season or even planning for a future garage sale! This will save you money down the road.
