Most children dream of having their very own playset in the backyard. This can be convenient for parents too, especially if you don’t live within close proximity to a park or a playground. Depending on how much time and money you wish to invest, you have a few options for creating your own backyard playground for your kids.
Buying a Used Outdoor Playset
You can often purchase a used kids playset at a fraction of the cost of buying new. As children grow up, parents find they have better uses for the yard space occupied by the playset, and so you can usually find ads in your local newspaper or online, and if you’re lucky, you might even find one for free. Keep in mind that your investment will be in the time required to dismantle, transport and reassemble the playset in your own backyard.
GoGetter Delivery + Assembly GoGetter can help with the delivery & setup of the new play structure to minimize the time and headache required for setup.
No Truck?

Building Your Own Play Structure
If you would rather invest the money and time into building your own playset you have the option of:
- designing your own plans or
- purchasing a kit from a home center such as Rona or Costco.
Keep in mind that purchasing a kit will still be labor intensive, but it will take some of the guesswork out of drawing up your own plans and the actual construction. The cost of the kit will depend on how elaborate the design is, how much you plan to customize and what accessories are included.

Always use soft ground cover beneath the play structure to reduce the impact of falls.
